Wheels hurt

Today I feel like I shouldn't ride scooters because, well listen to the story and you'll see.
The other day when I went to the pool I decided to ride my scooter to the pool. I had lots of fun. The lifegaurd heard thunder. Somebody yelled "It's only heat thunder."
But then came some gray clouds so i decided to leave. I put on my helmet and was on my way home Everything went fine until it was just 4 more houses until I was home. But there was a huge hole I didn't see I was slowing down but still going fast then that's when I went down in the hole and my leg went flying off and went dragging down the street.
I came to a stop and looked my leg and there was a big cut below my knee and i big one on my foot and to medieum sized ones below my toes they started bleeding right away and it stung too.
I made it home (I wasn't crying) I told my mom what happened. She put on medicine and that's when I started crying because she put some stuff that really stung. I needed a huge band-aid on the cut below my knee. I told my mom it felt like it was broken. it's been 3 and still been limping. Everyday it feels worse than it did the other day. One way I like to get around the house is a play to stroller I sit in and push myself with my hands . That's why I think Wheels Hurt.

Wheels don't hurt. Pot holes hurt. Scabs also hurt because they get stiff and make it harder to walk. Once you walk around some, they losen up, and you can get around pretty well until next time you sit still and they stiffen up again.

I hope you are all better by the time we go to the beach, but if not, salt water helps make cuts heal super fast! (It's true!)

Claire, I am sorry you hit the hole and your leg came off. Somebody must have sewed it back on since it now hurts. If your leg flew off and no one sewed it on it wouldn't hurt, don't you know?
The salt water at the beach will cure it
Love, Grandady

Claire, I know it was hard to be so brave, but I'm proud of you for not going into a panic!
When your Dad and I were youngsters like you, there was a boy in our neighborhood who would lick the blood off his wounds. I'm glad you didn't do that.
See ya Saturday!

I wish you wouldn't tell on me like that, Carol. Jeb was the one who ratted on me to my mom about other stuff I did.
