Clyde's Turtle
One night when Danny came home from work, he brought home...... a turtle? The dogs kept barking at the turtle. And it kept mom awake all night. The next morning Clyde just stood there staring at the turtle. I went inside to get some salad for the turtle.
I brought Clyde in so I could see the turtle eat some food. Clyde was laying down and winning. Like he would never go outside and look at him.
It was time for Stout and Clyde to eat their breakfast. Clyde rushed outside to see the turtle he looked and looked. But, it was true he didn't get to ever get to see the turtle again outside. He walked slowly inside with a sad face into the house thinking about his friend the turtle. And he was Clyde's little turtle.
Katie is also very interested in turtles. We were down at the lake one day and she spotted one crawling across the grass. She quickly realized it was some kind of animal and started scratching on its shell. I got her away before she could do any damage. She also likes going down to the edge of the water when there will be 20 or so turtles sitting in the sun and she scares them all into the water.
Clio OTOH doesn't really care about turtles.
When your Dad was about your age and found a turtle, he wrote his name in red fingernail polish on the turtle's shell. Years later the lady across the street found it in her yard. Enough of "JEB" was still there that she knew who met that turtle before she did.
