For the past 4 weekends Bob has been in the attic. People call to speak with him, neighbors ask about him, he doesn't come down. He has installed lights and switches, flooring, insulation, and even has his favorite music playing up there. When the kids need to tell him something they stand on chairs or stools and yell through the vents.
He comes down to go to work on Monday mornings. He says he's going back up this weekend.
I had a similar problem. I found that the best thing is to seal up any holes on the outside of the house where they are coming in and then to place traps on their walking paths in the attic with dog food as bait. I use a twist tie to hold the kibble on to the trap.
I did not read this as Bob is trying to rid the attic of uninvited critters. I read it as Bob creating new storage space.
I always say, if you have to store something in the attic, get rid of it. Luckily Bob is not creating more storage space, and we do not have rats.
He is obviously building a new guest room or maybe even a playroom... or an office.
Maybe Bob never had a tree house or secret cave when he was little. He can't dig a cave in that sand and the trees are too small to support a tree house so why not an attic to get away from it all?
Get away from what all?
Could someone please explain what Bob is doing in the attic? Mac5 wants to know.
