This year I'm thinking about entering reflections with a video project, and I have an idea of what I want to do. I'm not going to put all the details on here just in case there are snoops Googling ideas for their own project.

I'm just trying to figure out what's beautiful to different people for now, so maybe you guys could comment what you think is beautiful? Thank you.

This should be interesting because people will see beauty in different ways according to their age and stage in life.
Right now for me beauty is unconditional love. I see that in relationships between married couples, parents and children, siblings, grandparents and their families and sometimes friends. Even if the relationships are rocky at times there is that comfort and beauty of the knowledge that no matter what, there is love.
We are blessed in our extended families to know unconditional love.
Beauty is an illusion, a concept developed by the human brain to simply make them feel good about themselves.
Beauty is skin deep. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Beauty and the beast. The bold and the beautiful. Beauty is as beauty does.
Andrew: Beauty can be an illusion, but it can also be genuine. The mind does not invent genuine beauty, although it can be tricked by illusive beauty.
Beauty is all that God has created: mountains, beach, sunrise, sunset, a lady bug on a leaf, trees, flowers, a baby, blue skies, clouds, rainbows, sunshine, full moon, partial moon, gentle rain, an unexpected smile or hug, snow, a prayer answered, family. These are not in order of importance, just what popped in my mind.
I lean towards beauty just being how things look. There is inner beauty too, but that is different. Physical beauty in people is something that is hard to describe, but you know it when you see it. There was a recent article where a computer analyzed the faces of all of the NFL's quarterbacks to determine which is the best looking and it turned out to be Atlanta's. I wouldn't trust a computer to make that kind of decision. But people are pretty good at it. Think about the Miss Universe pageant where they have all of these incredible beautiful women who look completely different (black, white, asian, and more; okay, long-haired, tall, thin black, white, and asian women) and are able to come up with scores and determine which is the most beautiful. All of the elements of those scores are subjective and I doubt a computer could ever accurately predict a winner.
Natural beauty seems less subjective, but not as easy to compare. Most people would agree that the Grand Canyon is beautiful or the Rocky Mountains. But I don't know if you could really say whether the Rocky Mountains are more beautiful than the Grand Canyon.

The computer that analyzed football players faces based beauty on how symmetrical the faces were. Matt Ryan had the most symmetrical face and therefore was determined to be the best looking.
I wouldn't have thought symmetry = beauty, but maybe it does.
I think of beauty as something that is perfect ... like a perfect sunset or golf shot.
