Dream Girls

Carol and I went to see Dream Girls over the weekend. The music is really fabulous and it was a very good movie. I recommend it to all of you who like soul music. I don't know who wrote all of the songs, but whoever it was did a great job. One of the girls was an American Idol finalist and her voice is absolutely amazing. Costumes were beautiful, too. It's a good story and I don't know why it didn't get higher ratings. It's almost up there with "Chicago" in my own personal ratings.

UT:

Susan and I saw it this weekend and I thought it was good too. I don't think I liked it quite as much as Chicago, but I agree the songs and performances were very good. As with Chicago, I went in cold and didn't really know what it was about, so I enjoyed watching the story develop. The audience in our theater actually applauded after Jennifer Hudson's big song, which is right in the middle of the movie. I don't remember people ever applauding during the middle of a movie, unless there was some major bad guy that gets killed or something.
