Frozen People

You have to like a gag that results in spontaneous applause. No harm done… even the cleaning guy seemed ok with it.

  1. I think they are mostly actors, so that is something they know how to do… control themselves… at least on stage.

  2. Five minutes is a long time to stay completely still. And some people had their arms out or something that would be hard to hold. In addition to the statues there had to be a number of people to film people’s reactions. I wonder what cue they used to get everyone moving at the same time? I suspect the maintenance guy was a plant otherwise how did they get his voice?

  3. I was only in a few plays in college, but is funny how often you are called to pose perfectly still as someone has to pause and talk to the audience or think out loud.

I questioned the cleaning guy recording, but I think it was real. They pulled the sound off the broadcast either 1. a walkie talkie set to the same frequency or 2. a tape if such things are routinely recorded by the engineering staff or 3. they may have had a shotgun microphone.
