Little Katie

Little KatieTed found a little (puppy) version of Katie. Kathy is amazed how much the puppy looks like Katie. Mary Claire played with Big Kattie, Little Katie, and Cleo while DC and I helped Ted cut down a tree that was threatening the house. The good news is that the tree fell exactly where we wanted it to. However, if you see a good buy on a bench swing frame, do give Ted a call. More photos of Katie here.

The Husqvarna performed well. Started up on about the 5th pull thanks to Ted’s recommendation to close the choke after a few pulls. Where was he a few weeks ago?

The three of us with Clyde stopped by Dad’s on the way home to drop off the Anna Maria photo CD. Dad treated us all to grilled dogs, burgers, and icecream. None for Clyde, though. Birthday is over.

  1. Clyde and Little Katie got along really well. Clyde wears a collar the color of Little Katie and Little Katie wears a collar the color of Clyde. It is meant to be.

  2. Well, some people came to look at the little dog today. They liked her and seemed like good owners, but afterwards they went to a retriever rescue place and decided on a golden retriever instead.

So I have her for a little while longer. I will try taking her to the Dekalb Humane Society tomorrow (it’s a private organization and doesn’t ever kill animals) but would be willing to keep her at my house until she is adopted through them. The web page Jeb set up has helped.

Meanwhile, last week I let the little dog have the run of the living room one afternoon. I tried to put all the stuff she could chew up away but while I was gone the mailman came and delivered 2 DVD’s from Netflix. She’s such a good dog that she only destroyed one of them but it was the double-sided version of Bowling for Columbine. I thought the cheapest thing to do would be to go buy a new copy and send it back to them (I don’t think they’d know the difference; it just came out Tuesday). So I opened the DVD when I got home and it wasn’t two-sided, it was 2 DVD’s. Since Netflix only sends out 1 DVD I knew that wouldn’t work. I wound up buying the DVD from Netflix for $20 (I had paid $18 for mine). So if you want to borrow Bowling for Columbine (or Chicago which I got at the same time) let me know.
