I noticed that the humming birds were enjoying the purple hasta flowers, but did not seem to be enjoying the glass hummingbird feeder. I told Kathy that maybe the nector (sugar water) has to stay filled to the top for them to get anything.
She refilled it, and I just counted one of the humming birds dip into the red, glass flower 23 times in a row before belching and flying off.
hummmm…. (burp)
The Olympics have Kathy feeling competitive. At dinner tonight we were instructed to sit still when she dimmed the lights and counted a humming bird outside the window take 29 sips. Record. No burp, though.
How fun having humminging birds! Mom says you have to make sure they have clean sugar water so you have to change it every few days or so.
Also you might get to see their competitive nature when they fight for the food.
