Happy 15 Kelly!

Two celebrations for Kelly’s 15th included a group of friends over at the house that included several girls with August birthdays. It was very loud and based on the few photos we got, a lot of fun.

A less quiet (but still noisy) celebration tonight included a trip out to Kelly’s favorite restaurant. See the Gallery.

Buy A House for $200 (We did!)

Many of you know about the industrious brothers associated with the Missionaries of the Poor. When Hurricane Dean wiped out over 1,000 homes in the slums of Kingston, Jamaica, the brothers figured out how much they could build a new house for in materials ($200) and decided they would set a goal to build 400 houses. If you have seen them work, you would not bet against them.

Read more here, and follow the link to Missionaries of the Poor to contribute. Credit Card is the most efficient way to get funds to them.

White Board Art

The girls helped me move into my new office earlier in the year. They decorated the office with among other things, some white board art. I kept it up as long as I could, then took this snapshot when I needed to use it myself. Shades of the pending merger can be seen among the girls’ art and check ideas. Smerd makes an appearance.

Claire Swims at Tech

Claire made the county swim meet this year which was at Georgia Tech’s Olympic Stadium, which has since been enclosed since we last swam down there.

I took a movie with Canon digital camera just to see what would happen. This is Claire’s medley team with her leading off backstroke. I used Movie HD to export it to a web QuickTime movie then posted on YouTube. I do not necessarily recommend watching the entire thing, but you can see where Claire gets a good lead at the flip turn. (She is 4th lane from left.)
