Wrangler For Sale

Danny worked all day cleaning up the Wrangler so we can put it up for sale. He’s in charge of selling it and gets a commission. We plan on parking it up at the local auto show (Home Depot parking lot.) He and I also posted it on Craigslist.com…

Inbox (6,562)

Claire and I were watching some of the new Apple TV ads over the internet. Computer Genius, Party Is Over, and Choose a Vista. We were watching them on my Dell laptop (PC.) They stopped playing correctly, and I had to restart my browser. I told her I thought this might be irony at work.

When I closed the browser, she saw my Lotus Notes mailbox and saw the number 6,562 next to my Inbox. “Six thousand five hundred and sixty two,” she said, “Wow!”

I explained that was the count of unread messages. She mused, “Unread messages… the most I ever have is two.”

I’m not sure which us was more amazed. Surely life is better if the you only have two unread messages.

(And no, that is not an accurate number, but I can’t really explain it here.)

A Rocky Mother’s Day

Kathy missed her breakfast in bed routine last year because of a soccer tournament, so she was particularly looking forward to the special treatment this year. The two girls took care of writing up a menu and shuttling up Kathy’s requests. Clyde and Stout brought her the paper. She received many flowers, both for inside and out.

Spring Hill got out in time for Mother’s day, so Danny was in, and Nicole drove in to celebrate the day. After church, I took advantage of having us all together and dressed up for a backyard photo session.

Kathy got a lot of flowers as gifts for both inside and outside of the house. But the heaviest gift she got was the river-rock path that Danny and I made for her garden. This is another project that Bob would be proud of. We dug out the path, put in a 4″ plastic edge, tamped the dirt, laid down weed cloth, then poured in about 600 pounds of river rock. The ends of the path are capped with some abandoned rocks we found in the Holly Lake woods. I’d like to put some larger stepping stones along the middle.

She is quite happy with her new path. (View from bedroom window.)

A’s = 10 iTunes

Claire worked hard for another semester and earned all “A”s as well as 10 new songs for her iPod. This reminds me of buying 45 records when I was a kid. Only I never earned 10 songs for making all “A”s.
