Bev,

Enclosed are my April statement balances for checking and savings. These balances do not reflect the $1,800 I netted from the closing of my town house last Friday. That has been deposited to checking.

I have also included a copy of the letter I sent to Chevy Chase. I have not heard from them yet.

I received a letter in the mail yesterday from the credit bureau that informed me about the report that was generated for you. It pointed out the Chevy Chase item and a judgment against me for $500+ dollars in Dekalb Magistrate Court.

I don’t know if that is important, and I think we discussed it in your office. When the people backed out on the day of closing two years ago, I told them I considered their earnest money in forfeit. They sued me for the $500 plus a bunch of legal costs. The judge let them have their earnest money back. I was surprised.

Let me know if you need anything else.

–Jeb

Dear Joann,

I was told by one of the Chevy Chase Visa customer representatives to fax you the enclosed information. They have no information on the account number listed below, and asked that I have you research it.

I am attempting to get a home mortgage. The only “flaw” on my CBI credit report is with Chevy Chase Visa, account number 4013 0610 2908 1234. This report shows 1 occurrence of 30 days late and 2 occurrences of 60 days late.

I have never used a Chevy Chase Visa card account.

Please research this account and contact CBI to have this item removed from my credit report. I will need a phone number that the mortgage company can call to confirm this.

My business address is:

   &nbsp  John H. Harland Co.

   &nbsp  2939 Miller Road

   &nbsp  Decatur, GA 30035

My home address until May 24 is:

   &nbsp  1234 Hancock Circle

If you have any questions for me, you can contact me at 404-555-1234.

Thank you.

Fifth’s Disease

Alice called to warn that she I may have been exposed to Fifth’s Disease which would be bad for me to expose to Kathy. She was in a calm panic because she had been diagnosed with it and was contacting everyone she may have passed it on to.

I would have gotten it from Bennett at guy’s night out last weekend. After many phone calls and much controversy, Kathy, Nancy, Ted, and I have decided not to worry about ourselves.

I feel for Alice who has been threatened with fetal blood transfusions. The malicious doctors threatened Danny with such things in his second week.

Cliff House and Tame Men

Went house shopping today while people stomped through our house. We’ve been getting kicked out of the house a lot lately. Guess that’s good. Can’t get a buyer without a looker.

Kathy has had her eyes on one place for almost two years. It is in the same general neighborhood as the house we almost bought two years ago. It has been for sale the entire time. Looked like a great deal, and was even on a cul d’ sac.

We drove up into the vacant house’s driveway. Kathy jumped out and started peeking in the windows. I started following the sloping lot. Followed it right to the edge of a cliff not 10 yards away from the house.

Standing at the edge, we could look way down and make out what looked like bugs. Turned out to be kids playing way down at the base of the cliff.

cliff-house-1992-04.gifI told Kathy that if one of us didn’t fall over this cliff, the house surely would. So next I went to check the foundation. You could see the fault line cracking straight up through the foundation. About a fifth of the house was trying to fall over that cliff, just like California falling into the sea.

Later I was telling Ted about it. Ted said it would take some earth spikes, pilings, and other such reinforcement things to keep it secure. This may be the perfect house for a civil engineer, but not for us.

Saturday night was guys night out with Frank. Frank organized it. It was Frank’s night in, because we all met over at his house and stayed there. Played poker and ate some chilli that Stephanie had made. In attendance at various times were: Ted, Ken, Harrison, Bennett, Rick, Greg (Stephanie’s brother), Mr. Butker, Jimmy, Stephanie, Lauren, and Shelly with sleepy Allison. Once again, the guys proved they could be much tamer than the women.

Round Glasses

Kathy put in her last night at SportsLife. I don’t know if selling Melaleuca will ever make us a dime, but at least she can’t catch tuberculosis from Gold Bar Soap.

After wearing the same frames for 7+ years, I got new glasses.

jc-glasses-1992-04.gifI’ve gone from the aviator glasses (which I was told dated me to the early eighties) to a more contemporary round look.

They weigh less, cost a lot more, and my prescription hasn’t even changed. Fortunately we have eye insurance at work.

Upon Dextral’s advice, I got my old glasses tinted for $35.

Pretty good for some eighties sun glasses.
