Clyde’s Turtle

turtle-and-clyde.JPG

One night when Danny came home from work, he brought home…… a turtle? The dogs kept barking at the turtle. And it kept mom awake all night. The next morning Clyde just stood there staring at the turtle. I went inside to get some salad for the turtle.

I brought Clyde in so I could see the turtle eat some food. Clyde was laying down and winning. Like he would never go outside and look at him.

It was time for Stout and Clyde to eat their breakfast. Clyde rushed outside to see the turtle he looked and looked. But, it was true he didn’t get to ever get to see the turtle again outside. He walked slowly inside with a sad face into the house thinking about his friend the turtle. And he was Clyde’s little turtle.

Kindergarden nightmare

In May,2001(kindergarden) Mom bought me a new outfit.(skirt and shirt) Well anyways I was doing my morning work. Like usual Emma complements every outfit I wear.

Then when I stood up my skirt was slowly slipping down. But I caught right before it was going to fall down. So I went to Ms. Ball and she pinned it.

Then when we came in we had story time and went to lunch. But before school was out we had nap time oh yes sweet nap time. But that time it wasn’t sweet, when we were going to get our towels Jack started talking to me. And…… My pin popped out and my skirt fell down and my underwear was showing!!!

Jack fell to the ground it looked like he was dead. Everyone gasped. I was so embarrassed. I quickly pulled it up. I thought to myself wake up. But I was awake. Hopefully everyone forgot about it.

Small Mircales

Small Mircales

(that happened to Danny and me)

When my older brother was three days old he turned yellow and he was about to die. My mommy had to take him to the Hospital. All of the doctors had to crowd around him to have surgery. The surgery failed and didn’t help. The doctor said he would most likely die. My mom was crying and praying. She heard Danny crying and screaming. He was just born.

His temperature was rising. He had all these tests. My mom felt sick when she heard Danny screaming. They said a piece of his kidney was missing, and he would most likely die.

When he was almost 2 years old a miricale happened. When my Mom took Danny to the Hospital that peace was on. We where praying and hoping he wouldn’t die. He didn’t! Nicole my oldest sister had tears of Joy!

Today Danny is 16. Somehow he never complains or cries if he gets injuries. And I’m happy I get to see him.

When I was born the doctors said I was the size to have a blood suger problem. And if it never got cured then I could die when I would get older because I would always be very sick. Blood suger means I didn’t have enough suger.

My whole family prayed. When I was 1 day old they said I didn’t have it anymore. My family was happy that it was gone! And so am I.

Grandma’s House

My grandma is special to me. We don’t call her Grandma we call her Gramalie. My dad goes their house a lot. When he says I’m going to Gramalies house, I race over where dad was standing. And I would ask if I could come too. He always says yes.

When we get to their house Gramalie comes over and gives me kisses. She leads me to the cookie jar. She always has some new cookies in the lion cookie jar. Then she say, “Would you like some hot chocolate Claire?” So I say exited “Oh, would I!” She makes homemade hot chocolate. She goes up stairs why’ll I fill my tummy up with her homade hot chocolate.

She brings down a bag with her old dresses. So we dress up in them and put on jewelry. Dad comes up and takes pictures. We laghf and laghf. Then she tells me a story that she knew scince she was a little girl. She gives me one more cookie to go. She gives me kisses and I say “I can’t wait to come back Gramalie!”

Thomas Jefferson

Thomas Jefferson was born on April 13, 1743 in Virigina. He was born in a house that was called “Shadwell.” Thomas went to school near a pond. Thomas met another guy named Tom. They both became good friends. On the winter day they would skate on the pond, on summer days they would swim in it. The next day the Randolph children’s mom had died. (The Randolph people were the Jeffersons families best friends.)

So Thomas’s family had to go live with the Randolph children for seven years until they were old enough to live on their own. The Jefferson family said good-bye and headed home. When Thomas was 10 years old he made a bet with Tom that on February 30 they would have a horse race. Tom knew he would win it. February 28 came. The next day was March 1. Tom got tricked so Thomas won the bet.

At the age of 14, THomas had red hair and freckles and he was tall. When Thomas got home from school one day his father had died. After the funeral Thomas went off to college. When he finished college he became a lawyer. In 1776 Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence. It took him 18 days.

In 1772 on New Years day Thomas married Martha. They had 2 children. September 6, 1782 the worst thing in Jeffersons life happened. Martha and his daughter died. He didn’t eat or drink. But Patsy took care of him. (Their maid.) Then Jefferson had to leave for France. On February 1790 Thomas got married to Patsy. In 1801 Thomas became president. THen they had a baby girl named Polly. The next week Polly got very sick and died. Thomas had another war for the North and South. In 1826 Jefferson died at the age of 83. They found a diary on a desk next to his bed with a picture of a grave on it that he wanted on his tombstone. “Here was buried Thomas Jefferson author of the Declaration of American Independence of Statute of Virginia, for religious freedom and father of the University of Virginia. By these, I wish most to be remembered.”

Thomas Jefferson was a very kind man. He became President because one day a reporter came in and saw him sitting on the floor playing with his grandchildren. Thomas was a very easy-going man, they liked easy-going people. Thomas ran against Clark. Thomas won the election. Thomas didn’t have any brothers or sisters.

Budgies

What was your report about?

Parakeets.

I thought you said budgies. What are budgies?

A type of parakeet that lives in Australia.

What did you do for your project?

I cut out a poster into the shape of Australia. I put a picture of Harley and me. I drew a picture of my own budgie. I did play-dough, and I made a snake.

MCC-Harley.jpg

Why did you make a snake?

Because the project needed to know what its enemy was and what lived around it. So I made a snake out of play-dough. The eagle lives around the parakeet. When it flies it might see the budgie and eat it.

Would it eat it in mid-air?

Yep.

What else was on the poster?

I glued real seed on there, and millet. I glued a picture of a eucalyptus tree, a eucalyptus trunk, eucalyptus flowers and leaves. I did a key. I did two different colors, green and orange-ish yellow-ish, so they would know what the orange-yellowish was and the green was. The yellow-ish and orange-ish things were the desert… I mean the Outback. The green was the forrest.

Did you get a grade?

Yes, I got a 100.

Ear Doc

Where did you go yesterday?

The ear, nose, and throat doctor.

Why?

To check to see if my ear is good and to see if he could figure out what the virus was.

What did he do?

He checked my nose. He checked my throat. And then there is this big microscope, and he looked into my ears. In both ears he had this big steel fork. He hit it and put it all around my head to see if I could hear well.

Could you hear well?

Yeah.

Then what did he do?

After that he talked to my Mom. Then we had to go into this other room across the hall. Then she…

Who’s she?

Rebecca…. the nurse. She put these blue tube in my ear and it showed a green picture of my ear drum. It printed out. I had to go to the computer. She put a box on my shirt and a tube in my ear. I would hear all of these beeps and other sounds.

What was she doing?

I think it was probably… it had all of these pictures. If it is a high picture it means good and if it is a low picture it means bad.

Were yours high or low?

They were both high. There was this little chart. It had lines that would go up and down and across. She put it in my left ear. She did it twice like my other ear. We went back to the green part. It printed out the pictures on the screen that happened.

We had to leave and go back to the doctor’s. He told us about it. He told us that it is o.k. and that nothing bad is going on in my left ear. He said Doctor Cox made my ear better.

So did he tell you anything else?

He said, “You have beautiful ear wax.”

Was he a funny doctor?

Yeah. He said I could help some other doctors. When we came in I had to sit up, and he told mom questions. I saw this tray with tools and shots. So I fell on the bed and said “I hope he doesn’t give me shots!” They didn’t give me any shots.

That’s good.

Yeah.
