Performing Arts Camp

Last week we went to performing Arts Camp which we went to Monday-Friday 9am to 12pm at Brookwood high school. We do this just about every summer. When we get there we were divided up into 3 groups according to age. I was put in the C group since I was one of the oldest there. Each of our groups would learn a different song, skit, and dance related to the theme of the performance (Wonders of the Earth) we would do on Friday. So, once we got there, we did a few drama related games and went off to our different classes. The C group had music first (probably my least favorite class). We learned the song we would perform on Friday just within our group and the opening song we would perform with groups A and B. Our song was about the ocean. After that, we went to drama. The first day you just play games, and most of the next day we did. We wound up having a kit about the rain forest. I had a leading role. Then, we had a break where we got a snack. After that we went to dance. Our dance was hard. We had to learn the last part of the dance on the day of the performance! At the end of the day, we would all gather in the theater and work on the opening song and the choreography to it. Then we would go home. I’ll post some pictures when we have them on our computer.

Tennis Camp- Day 1

Claire and I joined a day “camp” for tennis. Really, it is tennis lessons because it is on Mondays and Wednesdays. It was BURNING today. It was around 93 degrees. Imagine how hot it was out on the tennis courts! I was sweating majorly man. We only worked on forehand and backhand swings. You would think it would be easy, but since I have never played this sport I barely made contact with the ball. When I did though, they were pretty good. We don’t have to actually hit it within the lines yet though unless we played games. Claire hit the ball pretty much every time, but she would hit over the fence or sideways. It was funny, but that is not going to be good when/if we play matches. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on whether I improve or not.

Fast Eddies

We went to Pensacola for Danny’s baseball tournament. The whole time we had pretty fun. The thing that I liked the most was going to Fast Eddies. It was a small place. The mini golf court was literally mini. We did not do it, but I know it wouldn’t have been that fun. Inside you could get food and there was a lot of arcade games squeezed inside. All we did though was ride the Go-Carts. Of course that was the main attraction. Also the most fun thing to do. Most of the team had left. One of Danny’s fellow pitchers accompanied us (Ryan Bode). We went there, because we were expecting the Brunelle’s to come (a baseball team family). They wound up not being there since the baseball player in their family, Parker, was too tired. All the kids got three rides each. Dad got 2 Mom got 1. It was so fun. One of the best things I ever had done. at first I was kinda afraid of crashing. But when we got started I found it was so easy. We could only go on 2 of the tracks. One of them you needed a license and a special expensive ticket. The other one was for toddlers. The two we went on was a track shaped like an 8 and the other one was a special speed one. I liked the 8 one the best. I only crashed once out of all 3 rides. On the third ride I was the fastest and lapped half the people. I love driving go-carts now. I could probably spend all my money in one day go-cart riding!! After leaving there I had the need for speed!! If anyone wanted to do this, I would strongly suggest that you do it. Of course for your birthday or something!!

Finally Summer is Here

At last summer is here. How come it is so boring? Nick JR. still comes on in the morning so there is nothing to watch. Quite a few of my friends have already left for vacation and there is nobody to talk to on e-mail or to invite over. Also I still have to wake up early for swim team. Which I don’t like very much this year because a lot of my friends aren’t on my team or they have gone up an age level already. The only real advantage I have here is staying up late ( I don’t really want to do that though because then I will be REALLY grumpy because of swimteam ). Of course, there is no more school work. Hmmmmm. Well…that works for me!
